Carmel Fisher of Fisher Funds:

Congratulations to Carmel Fisher of Fisher Funds for being the category winner for services at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards!

Here is an excerpt from the award write-up to see why Carmel Fisher was deserving of her award, "The kingfisher is resourceful, steadfast, skilled at acquisition and even has certain sacred qualities. Fittingly it is the brand identity of Carmel Fisher’s investment company, a New Zealand-owned and operated fund manager, and KiwiSaver provider, managing NZ$7b on behalf of more than 255,000 people. The business has been in existence for close to two decades but founder Carmel Fisher’s tenure as one of the country’s more astute investment experts is even more established."

Berkeley Cinemas Takapuna:

Congratulations to Berkeley Cinemas Takapuna for winning Best Mainstream Cinema during the New Zealand Motion Picture Industry Council (NZMPIC) Conference on 13th June.

The "Best Mainstream Cinema" award is awarded to the cinema that got the highest amount of votes on from visitors on certain key areas such as price, customer service, venue, and the complex as a whole. The category included major chain cinemas such as Hoyts, Event Cinemas, and Reading Cinemas.

Vision Personal Training:

Congratulations for Vision Personal Training because for the first time, a small gym has fended off larger competitors to be named the top exercise facility in the country.
Takapuna Beach based gym Vision Personal Training won the supreme award at the 2015 New Zealand Exercise Industry Awards after taking out the small exercise facility of the year category, for gyms with fewer than 500 members. For more details, read here.

Obsidian Wines:

Congratulations to Obsidian Wines who have had recent success at the New Zealand International Wine Show. The Conde' Nast Traveller featured Obsidian's success.

"In addition to being one of the pioneer producers of Montepulciano in the country, Obsidian is unquestionably one of the best: Winemaker Michael Wood's newly released 2013 vintage took home the Best in Class trophy at the New Zealand International Wine Show (against stiff competition from Italy), and was declared the "best Montepulciano outside of Italy" by renowned international wine critic and Master of Wine Bob Campbell."

This is a phenomenal result for Obsidian Wines whose vineyard and cellar door are on Waiheke Island and office based in Takapuna Beach.
